2004 Pittsburgh Boat Show

The Allegheny Chapter once again had seven boat on display at the Pittsburgh Boat Show. The boats on display were, Art Lowrie Jr's 1942 Century Seamaid 17', Walt Fraizer's 1955 Century Resorter 16', Chuck Miklos' 1955 Century Coronado 20', Chuck Niceley's 1958 Chris Craft Sportsman 17', Chuck Liberature's 1963 Century Resorter 17', xxxx's 1968 Correct Craft Baracuda 17', and Scott Becker's Pennyan Trailer boat 15'. All of the boats on display are used or will be used. Two are fresh restorations and have not been back in the water, but they will be.





Chuck Niceley talks to show visitors about his 1958 Chris Craft Sportsman 17'. Chuck has owned this boat for around 10 years.





Chuck Liberature and his 1963 Century Resorter 17'. Chuck restored this boat several years ago and has been using it for 5 seasons.

Scott Becker's Pennyan Trailer Boat 14'. Scott has owned it for a few years and the restoration was completed in 2002.



XXXXX"s 1968 Correct Craft 17' Baracuda. The restoration was completed before the last boating season.



Chuck Liberature's 1963 Century Resorter 17'.



Chuck Miklos' 1955 Century Coronado 20'. Chuck went to the Century factory with Chuck Solk the owner of the marina to pick up for the original owner. Chuck purchased the boat the first time in 1968 after some damage in a fire. He then rebuilt it and sold it. Chuck re aquired the boat in 1974 after it sat outside for 3 years un covered. It was then put into storage for many years until the restoration was done. Click here for photographs of the boat's history.



Walt Fraizer's 1955 Century Resorter 16'. Walt bought the boat when it was two years old in 1957, and has owned it for 46 years. Click here for restoration photographs of this boat.



Art Lowrie Jr's 1942 Centrury Seamaid 17'. Art's father' Art Sr. bought it new in November of 1941. The boat has been in the family for 62 years. Click here for photographs of the boat's history.



All of the engines on display are owned by Tom Shannor. There were many different outboard engies of different eras.
